Help slow the spread of illnesses such as COVID and seasonal flu. Use these simple tips to help you and others stay well.
- Wash your hands often and every time before you eat.
- How to wash your hands properly:
- Rinse your hands with water.
- Scrub with soap/sanitizer for at least 20 seconds or sing the "Happy Birthday" song two times.
- Rinse with warm water.
- How to wash your hands properly:
- Avoid contact with people who are sick.
- Do not touch your face with unwashed hands.
If you are infected:
- Stay at home.
- Avoid contact with others.
- Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
- Keep objects and surfaces clean and sanitized.
If you are caring for someone who is infected:
- Wash your hands after each contact with the infected person or with items they use, such as a drinking glass.
- Do not reuse utensils.
- Isolate them to their own sleeping space and bathroom, if possible.
