Medical Receptionist (Full-Time)
The individual who fills this position demonstrates that they are capable of carrying out the following roles and responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing great customer service with the ability to present a professional manner to the public, persons served, and all other agencies as necessary including in person, in writing, by telephone, or e-mail.
- Maintain an efficient and organized filing system for documents, records, and reports.
- Facilitate all necessary form procedures, including but not limited to:
- Update demographic information at each appointment
- Assist in completing all annual paperwork
- Manage billing procedures including working out details of payment plans
- Maintain an orderly office environment
- Compassionately triage behavioral health concerns (phone or face-to-face)
- Offer customer satisfaction surveys
- Manage incoming faxes and mail
- Must be able to maintain providers schedules, which includes rescheduling as needed and printing daily schedules.
- Maintain records of all scheduled, rescheduled, and canceled appointments accurately using the proper EMR procedures
- Perform confirmation calls daily
- Inform providers of schedule changes throughout the day
- Inform the providers when person served is present
- Backfill appointments when appropriate
- Schedule follow up appointments
- Enter data on the computer as procedures indicate, including but not limited to, documentation of all communication from the persons served.
- Facilitate insurance verification of persons appointments including verification of current authorizations.
- Responsible for assisting with the creation and maintenance of new, current, and discharged records.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- Working telephone
- Possess a valid driver’s license or state identification
- Pass all regulatory checks
- Must obtain required trainings
- Possess reliable transportation
- Experience in a health care setting required
