Certified Medical Assistant (Full Time)

The individual who fills this position demonstrates that he or she is capable of carrying out the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Process consumer’s file for visit with RN and physician prior to appointment (i.e. obtaining lab results, hospital discharge information, etc.) and document consumer’s response to care given as instructed by RN or physician (i.e. injection).
  • Assist RN and physician with consumer treatment such as obtaining and recording patient temperature, blood pressure, height, weight, pulse glucose and breathing rates, and organizing lab orders and prescribed medications according to process.
  • Complete the Coordination of Care process including Health Care Coordination process.
  • Process annual paperwork before expiration date. Complete patient assistant forms and other documentation as required for consumer to participate in qualified benefits. Process in the electronic medical record.
  • Process samples and prescribed medications for consumers according to procedure, including notifying consumer of availability.
  • Communicate with RN and physician as well as document consumer care such as, but not limited to, patient education, contact notes, consumer communication (i.e. phone calls), pharmacy and insurance company communication.
  • Oversee stock and keep up to date required medications and supplies.
  • Facilitate TB tests for all TLC staff.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Working telephone
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Pass all regulatory checks
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Medical Assistant Certification
